Of course the answer is "it depends". In general, the options include carpeting, laminate flooring, vinyl flooring, hardwood flooring, and tile flooring. Today, laminate or vinyl flooring is an excellent choice for many applications, as a balance between expense and functionality. Those two terms (laminate and vinyl) are often used interchangeably, so you have to look at each product to know what you're getting for sure. But there is a technical difference between the two. Laminate flooring is water resistant; it has a wood core and is thus susceptible to water damage. Vinyl flooring has a plastic core and is thus water proof. Overall this flooring (laminate / vinyl) is durable, is water resistant or water proof, and so is great for kitchens & bathrooms, and less expensive than hardwoods. We strive to complete the work within a reasonable time period, which we view as within the month (barring unusual or unforeseen circumstances). If we need to add personnel to complete the work timely, we will do so. We'll give you a real estimate of the timeframe at the time of estimate.
